Receipt Generator

Receipts are the least interesting document in a business and the one that causes the most trouble when it is missing. A client who paid cash and wants proof, a customer claiming an expense, an auditor asking what a deposit was for. All of it is easy if a receipt exists and tedious if one does not.

Why the numbering matters

Receipts issued from a pad in no particular order are the reason bookkeeping takes a weekend instead of an hour. Sequential numbering means every payment received has exactly one document, that document has a unique reference, and a gap in the sequence is a question you can actually answer.

Where it fits

A receipt normally closes out an invoice, and both feed the same bookkeeping ledger. If you take payments in person, the document scanner handles the paper receipts coming the other way, so both sides of the money end up in the same place.

For businesses that mostly deal in cash

Trades, market vendors, tutors, cleaners, anyone getting paid on the spot. Generate the receipt on your phone before you leave, email it to the customer, and the record exists before you have forgotten the details. That is the entire pitch and it is worth more than it sounds.
