The jobs that go wrong are almost never the ones with a signed scope. They are the ones where everybody was being agreeable in an email thread and nobody wrote down what "done" meant. A contract is not about distrust, it is about the two of you agreeing on the same picture before money changes hands.

How it works

Rather than handing you a blank page, the builder assembles a document from clauses: scope, payment schedule, deposits, change orders, revisions, cancellation, ownership of the finished work, confidentiality, liability limits. You pick what applies, fill in the specifics, and the document reads as one coherent agreement rather than a stack of pasted paragraphs.

Common starting points

• Freelance and contract services, with a deposit and milestone payments
• Trades and construction work, with change-order handling and a materials clause
• Design and creative work, where who owns the final files is the thing that causes arguments
• Ongoing retainers, where the monthly scope needs a defined edge
• Simple mutual NDAs for conversations that happen before any of the above

Signing

The finished contract exports to PDF and can be signed with the e-signature tool, so the whole thing stays digital. Signed copies sit in your document history with a date, which is the version that matters if anyone ever needs to refer back to it.
